The idea to develop a secure pet friendly Lifestyle village that will cater for residents over the age of 50 year took seed as there is a distinct lack of these facilities in the Greater Boland Region. Klein-Begin Lifestyle Village has been planned to allow for an independent lifestyle with access to communal facilities being available when required, within the confines of a secured environment. This model is quite different from the traditional Old Age Home model as the village will comprise of a series of smaller interlinked “village” clusters, which allow for easy accessibility and social interaction, as well as a safe secure environment to live in. The village buildings are based on the Cape Vernacular with echoes the West Coast Fishing Village Architecture. A series of ‘Green Spaces” run through the entire development to provide calm, restful areas for the residents to socialise and interact. For those residents that do not want a garden, the development plan includes 20 apartments.
